📍 Hong Kong’s subtropical climate leaves its soil vulnerable to heavy rainfall and erosion.
📍 Over a three-month design workshop, participants will:
📍 Explore biomimetic design using biodegradable PHA materials.
📍 Create small-scale spatial installations to protect and enhance soil health.
1️⃣ Design Thinking: Apply biomimicry and artificial intelligence to create your own team design portfolio.
2️⃣ Digital Fabrication: Use 3D printing technology to transform your designs into tangible 3D prototypes.
3️⃣ Scientific Practice: Experiment with biodegradable materials and collaborate on scientific papers using real environmental data.
📍 Teaching Team:
Registered architects, environmental scientists, and doctoral researchers will co-teach this interdisciplinary program, broadening students’ future pathways.

24-36 students aged 13–18.

Holding a PhD from the University of Exeter and a Master and Bachelor from Imperial College London, he currently serves at CUHK, managing the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, where he coordinates climate education programs and develops interactive exhibitions to raise climate change awareness for Hong Kong. Diana Pang is a multidisciplinary designer and researcher working at the intersection of cities, care and culture. Now a Senior Foresight Analyst at Arup, she translates complexity into equitable and regenerative transitions through strategic foresight and design futures. Diana began her career in banking and strategy, with a background in applied mathematics from the London School of Economics and experience at Goldman Sachs, before consciously transitioning into design. She later spent a year in Costa Rica learning to design with and for nature, shaping a research‑driven, trauma‑informed practice. Nabi Agzamov is a PhD Candidate in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie co-funded REDI program (RMIT European Doctoral Innovators) and a researcher at 5th Studio in London. His doctoral research focuses on ecological urbanism and climate adaptation strategies across cities in the North Sea and western Baltic regions. In 2024, he co-edited North Sea Rising: A Case for Water-Based Commons (VI PER Gallery), advocating for cooperative and ecologically balanced water management approaches. From 2019 to 2022, he led the Center for Urban Resilience and Ecology at Strelka KB. Previously, he worked at SCAPE in New York, contributing to the Ecological Citizens exhibition for the U.S. Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Biennale.
Agzamov holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, where he received the Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Prize. He is also an alumnus of The New Normal research program at Strelka Institute.
